2025 Annual Nutrient Management Update
The Maryland Department of Agriculture will host its Annual Nutrient Management Update this December to provide the latest program updates, research findings, and practical insights for certified nutrient management consultants and farm operators.

Participants may choose to attend one of two sessions:

December 4, 2025 - New Midway Fire Company, New Midway, MD
December 15, 2025 - Maryland Department of Agriculture Headquarters, Annapolis, MD

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (registration begins at 9:00). The registration fee is $30, and payment must be received by November 24, 2025.

Attendees will earn 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) toward their Maryland Nutrient Management certification.

Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Exam
The Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination will be offered on February 06, 2026. This exam is for farmers and consultants who want to write nutrient management plans for others. There is a $50 non-refundable certification fee, however, government personnel are exempt with a Government Sales and Use Tax Exempt certificate. The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions selected from twelve knowledgeable areas.

Turfgrass Nutrient Management: Beyond NPK

Date: December 9, 2025

Go beyond the basics of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to explore the role of micronutrients and soil amendments in turfgrass management. Learn how to identify deficiencies, interpret test results, and make informed decisions to improve turf vigor and soil health.
