2026 Soil Conservation & Nutrient Management Seminar For Equine Operations
Join the Montgomery Soil Conservation District for a day all about Equine! This event features presentations from industry experts on nutrient & pasture management and industry changes. An update on best management practices for soil conservation and nutrient management will be provided, along with information on current topics affecting the equine community. This program awards 6 CEUs in all agricultural NM categories.

2026 Update Your Nutrient​ Management Sessions ​
Have you updated your nutrient management plan for the upcoming cropping season? Do you have questions? Do you need help getting started? Do you need a software refresher?

The University of Maryland Extension (UME) Nutrient Management Specialists will be available to assist you with updating your nutrient management plan and the nutrient management planning software NuMan Pro 5.3. The sessions will be informal, and participants will work at their own pace. Participants must be familiar with a keyboard/computer and able to retrieve and save files. Bring a keyboarding assistant, if needed.

Fundamentals of Nutrient Management Training

Overview
This training course provides participants with a basic overview of knowledge areas covered by the Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination. Topics include state nutrient management regulations, nutrient management principles, basic soil science, and soil fertility recommendations. Instructors are university and government experts.

Who Should Attend
Anyone planning to take the Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination (next exam is August 7, scroll down for details), consultants and farmers interested in refreshing their nutrient management knowledge, and natural resource personnel.

Nutrient Management Voucher Training Schedule
Farmers: Are you up to date on your nutrient voucher training? If you apply nutrients to 10 acres or more, you'll need to complete a 2-hour training course every three years to comply with Maryland's nutrient management requirements. University of Maryland Extension (UME) and MDA offer both in-person and online sessions to make it easy for you.

​Winter Crop Production Meeting Schedule
Farmers: Get the latest research and data to make informed 2026 growing decisions. Crop meetings focusing on agronomy, urban farming, forage, fruit, and vegetable production are now underway. Attendance is free, and meetings will be held in person and virtually. ​Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Exam
The Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination will be offered on August 7, 2026 at locations in Annapolis, Keedysville, and Easton. This exam is for farmers and consultants who want to write nutrient management plans for others. There is a $50 non-refundable certification fee, however, government personnel are exempt with a Government Sales and Use Tax Exempt certificate. The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions selected from twelve knowledgeable areas.  ​
