Agricultural Nutrient Management Training Program
Multiple Dates Beginning March 24, 2025
| 2025 Farmer Training and Certification Workshop Provides an opportunity for producers with cropland and pastures in Maryland who meet the minimum requirements ($2,500 gross agricultural income or 8 animal units) to learn how to write their own nutrient management plans. Interested producers may attend one of four sessions. Upon completion of this course, producers will become certified to write their operation's plan and will also fulfill the nutrient applicator voucher training requirements.

Hosted by the University of Maryland, this training provides Private Applicator Recertification & Nutrient Applicator Voucher Recertifications. Requires an internet connection.

| SAVE THE DATE: REGISTRATION LINK COMING SOON Fundamentals of Nutrient Management Training This training course provides a basic overview of knowledge areas covered by the Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination scheduled for August 1, 2025. Topics include state nutrient management regulations, nutrient management principles, basic soil science, and soil fertility recommendations. Instructors are university and government experts.

| Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Exam This exam is for farmers and consultants who want to write nutrient management plans for others. The exam will be offered at MDA headquarters, the Talbot Agricultural and Education Center and the Western Maryland Research and Education Center (WMREC). There is a $50 non-refundable certification fee, however, government personnel are exempt with a Government Sales and Use Tax Exempt certificate.
