The projects below have been funded by MDA to provide free spay and neuter services to low-income pet owners in Maryland. The surgeries may also include a free rabies vaccine. All projects have limited funding. Projects may cover specific areas or zip codes within the listed counties.
This grant program does not provide funding directly to individuals. Check the list below to see if there is an active MDA-funded project in your area, and contact the organization listed for more information and to verify if you qualify.
The projects listed below are active for as long as grant funds will allow. Some projects begin in October, but most begin in January. The list on this page is kept as up to date as possible.
If there is no active project covering your area, contact your local animal shelter(s) and/or non-profit animal welfare organizations who may know of low cost surgery options or other programs in your area for which you may qualify. Find a list of Maryland animal shelters here: Maryland Animal Control Facilities
This program is not taxpayer-funded.
