Fundamentals of Nutrient Management Training
This training course provides participants with an overview of knowledge areas covered by the Maryland Nutrient Management Certification Examination. Topics include state nutrient management regulations, nutrient management principles, basic soil science, and soil fertility recommendations. Instructors are university and government experts.

Certification for Nursery and Greenhouse Operators
A training and certification program will be offered for operators of nurseries, greenhouses, and controlled environments who are interested in becoming certified to write their own nutrient management plans. The training will be held at the University of Maryland's Central Maryland Research and Education Center in Ellicott City.
Nutrient Applicator Voucher Training
Farmers who apply nutrients to 10 or more acres of cropland are required to attend a nutrient applicator training course once every three years. Open the PDF for this year's training schedule.

The University of Maryland and other institutions provide excellent nutrient management webinars. Even if you cannot attend a session "live," you might be able to earn CEUs at a later date.

Professional Fertilizer Applicator Certification Review & Exam
Lawn care professionals who apply fertilizer must be certified by MDA or work under the direct supervision of an individual who is certified. Open the PDF for exam date and registration form.
This program is open only to currently certified Professional Fertilizer Applicators (turfgrass.) The program fulfills the 2-hour CEU requirement for PFA certificates that expire annually on June 30.
