​February 28, 2018 Farmer Training and Certification for Nurseries and Greenhouses​ 
A farmer training and certification workshop will be offered to operators of nurseries, greenhouses and controlled environment who want to become certified to write their own nutrient management plans.

University of Maryland Extension (UME) nutrient management specialists will be available to assist farmers in updating their nutrient management plans.​

Farmer Training and Certification for Small Intensive Food Production Operations 
This six-part Farmer Training and Certification (FTC) series will provide an opportunity for CSAs and growers for farmers’ markets with small intensive food production operations to learn how to develop nutrient management plans for their own operations.​
Various Dates ​​Maryland Nutrient Applicator Voucher Courses
Farmers who apply nutrients to 10 or more acres of cropland are required to attend a nutrient applicator training course once every three years. Open the PDF for this year's training schedule.

Learn and Earn CEUs Online
The University of Maryland and other institutions provide excellent nutrient management webinars. Even if you cannot attend a session "live," you might be able to earn CEUs at a later date.
​Feb. 8, 2018 Nutrient Management Certification Examination
Exam will consist of 100 multiple choice questions selected from nine knowledge areas. These include: general nutrient management; basic soil science; agricultural and environmental management; sampling testing, and analysis for nutrient assessment; basic soil fertility; fertilizer management; manure management; biosolids management; incentives and regulations.
​Various Dates Learn to Write Your Own Nutrient Management Plan ​for Producers with Cropland and Pastures
The Farmer Training and Certification workshops provide opportunities for producers with cropland and pastures who use commercial fertilizer and/or manure to learn how to write nutrient management plans for their own operations that meet Maryland Department of Agriculture regulations.
