Agricultural Nutrient Management Training Program

​August 4, 2017 Maryland Nutrient Management Exam
Individuals who provide nutrient recommendations, professionals who provide technical assistance or are engaged in the development of waste management systems, nursery personnel and farmers interested in developing nutrient management plans for other farmers are encouraged to take the exam.

September 19 or September 26, 2017 How to Write a Nutrient Management Plan Workshop
This one day workshop will be held at two locations. The September 19 workshop will be held in Queenstown on the Eastern Shore and the September 26 workshop will take place in Derwood in Montgomery County. Participants will learn how to write a nutrient management plan from beginning to end and how to use the nutrient management planning software, NuMan Pro. This program will award 6 Maryland Nutrient Management continuing education credits. 
Various Dates Nutrient Applicator Voucher Training
Farmers who apply nutrients to 10 or more acres of cropland are required to attend a nutrient applicator training course once every three years. Open the PDF for this year's training schedule.

Learn and Earn CEUs Online
The University of Maryland and other institutions provide excellent nutrient management webinars. Even if you cannot attend a session "live," you might be able to earn CEUs at a later date.

List of Recertification Seminars for Certified Professionals
This program is open only to currently certified Professional Fertilizer Applicators (turfgrass.) The program fulfills the 2-hour CEU requirement for PFA certificates that expire annually on June 30.
