MDA conducts many programs to ensure both the safety and quality of animal and human food.  The Food Quality Assurance Program conducts a combination of regulatory and voluntary programs to promote the sale and consumption of high quality and wholesome agricultural food products such as eggs, poultry, fruits, vegetables, and grain.  Monitoring of produce for unacceptable pesticide levels and activities to ensure the production and distribution of safe animal feed are conducted by the State Chemist Office.
