Given the state’s small size, the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) has the unique ability to develop close relationships with local producers and suppliers. This allows us to give our customers around the world specialized care and attention. We are eager to introduce Maryland farmers, processors, breeders and watermen to international buyers and to facilitate the development of mutually beneficial relationships and on-going sales. Our International Marketing program adds value for overseas buyers, importers, and distributors by sharing and helping to foster relationships with Maryland's farmers and producers.
Because the international trade of agricultural products requires strong and effective collaboration, we seek transparent and mutual interactions with our overseas partners. We work closely with embassies worldwide and with other organizations to facilitate the successful and ongoing export of Maryland products.
The International Marketing staff offers guidance in navigating the Maryland marketplace through its own resources and those of other state agencies, relationships with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Foreign Agricultural Service, and connections with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Export Assistance Center. If you are interested in identifying Maryland suppliers, assistance is only a telephone call or an e-mail away. We provide targeted assistance by:
